Anne-Marie Otey is Communications Director for the Council. She manages its social media and public appearances, highlighting the quality and diversity of the Council’s local unions. Otey publishes the Council’s magazine, “Building Trades News,” which has earned awards from the International Labor Communications Association. She also is the Council’s lead organizer on the Measure ULA initiative for affordable housing in the City of Los Angeles.
Otey joined the Council in 2012 after working in online and print journalism. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where she won the Eugene Lang Opportunity Scholarship.
Otey serves on the boards of MoveLA and WINTER (Women in Non-Traditional Employment Roles). She is an active member of Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center, and is co-chair of its Social Justice Committee.
