Union Women To Meet in Los Angeles

By

LOS ANGELES—The California State Building Trades, in partnership with the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council and the California Labor Federation, will hold a union women’s conference on March 29-30 in Los Angeles.

“The number of women in the Building Trades is increasing every year,” says Ernesto Medrano, Council Executive Secretary. “This conference, right here in our hometown, will show how much progress we’ve made in LA and Orange Counties.”
Registration is now available at: https://cabuildingtrades.org/2025-union-women-conference

The event is open to all women who are members of hundreds of unions across California. This includes women who are currently Building Trades journey-level or apprentices, plus those who have graduated from Council MC3 programs and are awaiting placement in a union. Retirees, who were pioneers for women in the Trades, will have many stories to tell.

Union leaders, representatives, elected officials and union-contractor partners will also attend.

The conference will take place at the Westin Bonaventure. It will include plenary sessions with speeches, caucuses by Trade, parties, meals and information sessions.
“These sessions offer a chance to share issues and deal with challenges,” says Anne-Marie Otey, Council Communications Director. “Women leave the conference energized. They’re enthusiastic about their positions in the Trades and their futures.” Otey is the day-to-day Council contact for the conference, and can be reached at amotey@laocbuildingtrades.org
