
Andrew Gonzales is the Council Representative for Orange County and the Long Beach area. He joined the Council in 2023. As a representative, he works with Council Executive Secretary Ernesto Medrano to achieve Project Labor Agreements and Community Workforce Agreements for public projects and private entities. Gonzales also spearheads political outreach to elected officials and candidates for office from Orange County at all levels of local, state and national government.
Gonzales was most recently Public Relations and Legislative Affairs Manager for the City of Modesto, and previously served as Communications Director for the Democratic Caucus of the Missouri House of Representatives. For several years, Gonzales served as a public affairs strategic consultant to the SMART union working with Sheet Metal Workers Local 105, light rail and motor coach operators at LA Metro, and class 1 railroad workers at BNSF.
Gonzales is a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the infantry and reserves. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from The Ohio State University.
