Los Angeles, CA – The LA/OC Building & Construction Trades Council, which represents 48 local unions and over 160,000 skilled workers across Southern California, yesterday reached an agreement with the Culver City Unified School District on a new Community Workforce Agreement.
CWA’s are designed to prevent waste, maximize public benefits, and deliver measurable advantages to workers and their communities. These agreements are effective, time-tested tools that ensure good value for taxpayers and ensure that local workers can earn fair wages and good benefits. This agreement with CCUSD opens the door to quality, impactful careers for Culver City community members and students alike.
Culver City School Board President Triston Ezidore had this to say about the agreement: “This Community Workforce Agreement reinforces our commitment to serving Culver City and creating real local opportunities for our skilled workers, apprentices, and veterans. The LA/OC Building Trades will be a tremendous partner as we strengthen pathways for our students, prepare them for lifelong success, and develop the future of Culver City.”
“The signing of this Community Workforce Agreement marks an exciting step for us here at CCUSD,” said CCUSD Superintendent Dr. Alfonso Jiménez. “We’re excited to collaborate with the LA/OC Building Trades, whose partnership will play a crucial role in developing more opportunities for our students, neighbors, and our community as a whole.”
